I am recruiting a Senior Medical Adviser and I am looking for a high calibre person who may be interested in joining a medical team to make a real difference to patients lives. This is a mixture of opportunity to get involved in clinical , medical sign off and a commercial aspect of the role, all within compliance boundaries of course. The Medical Adviser is a key member of the medical affairs team responsible for reviewing and approving promotional materials, developing and delivering on Medical Plans and Strategy, working in a truly cross-functional way with the commercial teams and working with the rest of the Medical Team (MSLs and Medical Director) to be the voice of the patient internally and externally. This role requires strong medical and healthcare knowledge, leadership, teamwork, good communication and influencing skills as well as commercial acumen.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :-
Present my clients reputation as an advocate of medical advancement by using knowledge of product, disease state and pipeline products to engage healthcare providers in meaningful scientific exchange of information
Creates and tracks annual Medical Affairs plans including budget tracking
Collaborates with Marketing and Commercial teams to ensure materials and projects are clinically relevant, patient focussed and compliant with relevant regulations (PMCPA, MHRA and IPHA) and SOPs including approval and certification
Maintains clinical knowledge of treatment trends including current treatment strategies, current and pending competitors, and new therapeutic developments and shares this knowledge internally where appropriate
Increases visibility among leaders in the relevant therapeutic fields. Identifies, establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with key national KOLs and institutions including local scientific organizations as well as patient groups
Participates in medical education for healthcare professionals through presentations in medical meetings, and other appropriate venues (hospitals, clinics…) to enhance product and disease state knowledge.
Responds to unsolicited request for medical information associated with supported products and disease state areas.
Develop and maintain successful relationships with key opinion leaders, clinical investigators, and providers at academic and non-academic settings in order to achieve mutually agreed upon objectives (i.e., investigator-initiated studies, publications, etc.)
Organises effective training and clinical presentations to internal audience as needed and tailors presentations to meet specific needs of the audience (in collaboration with MSLs)
Deputise for the Medical Director when required

Qualified PMCPA Medical Signatory (Doctor or pharmacist) - essential
> 3 or more years working in medical affairs in UK - (desirable)
Experience working in cardiovascular & metabolic disease areas - (desirable)
Thorough understanding of the UK health system (including National and local Market Access) and experience in primary care and secondary care
Experience of responding to Medical Information enquiries
Experience leading national projects e.g. investigator sponsored studies, real-world evidence studies, interactions with patient organisations, consensus papers etc
Experience of and able to demonstrate working cross-functionally
Experience providing regional training to sales teams
English language capability
Networking and leadership skills
Strong IT skills especially MS Office
