Position: Senior Pharmacovigilance Officer

Location: Remote / Office Based (Reading)

Inizio Engage is pleased to partner with a leading pharmaceutical company to recruit a Senior Pharmacovigilance Officer. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and detail-oriented pharmacovigilance professional to join a dynamic medical team, supporting patient safety and compliance through accurate and timely pharmacovigilance activities.

We are looking for someone with substantial experience in drug safety or pharmacovigilance who is passionate about maintaining high standards in safety reporting and regulatory compliance. If you have a proactive mindset, excellent organisational skills, and a commitment to quality, this role could be the perfect fit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the accurate day-to-day processing and management of pharmacovigilance data, ensuring compliance with company and regulatory timelines.
  • Contribute to the review, evaluation, and follow-up of individual and cumulative safety data, including reporting adverse reactions to the MHRA.
  • Support the Pharmacovigilance Manager with workload management and preparation of pharmacovigilance-related documentation.
  • Monitor and analyze safety data trends to identify potential safety signals or compliance issues and escalate as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure adherence to pharmacovigilance obligations and quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure the department operates in an inspection-ready manner at all times.
  • Provide supervisory support and training to junior colleagues, interns, or students as delegated.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A life science degree or qualification as a health professional (e.g., pharmacy technician, pharmacist, nurse).
  • Substantial (3-4 years) experience in drug safety, pharmacovigilance, pharmacy, nursing, or medicine.
  • Sound knowledge of pharmacovigilance principles and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience working with pharmacovigilance databases and producing clear written and verbal communications.
  • A collaborative, solution-focused approach with the ability to work autonomously and within a team.
  • Commitment to ethical leadership, patient safety, and continuous improvement.
