New Opportunity working on behalf of a company launching into the UK  - Position Overview

We are looking for a hands-on detail-oriented Finance Manager to oversee finance and accounting functions for the UK and Ireland Region. This role will partner closely with the  UK & Ireland leadership team and collaborate with our client's global finance team. The ideal candidate has experience managing collections, cash applications, payables, and inventory in addition to financial reporting and statutory compliance.

 

Key Responsibilities

·         Drive financial planning and analysis (FP&A) activities

·         Own cash flow forecasting and scenario modelling to ensure optimal capital allocation and liquidity management.

·         Partner with global and regional teams to align local FP&A efforts with company-wide objectives and performance goals.

·         Lead the month-end and quarter-end close processes in collaboration with the global finance team, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting and adherence to closing timelines.

·         Oversee general ledger activity, vendor payments, and payroll processes while ensuring proper documentation and internal control compliance.

·         Ensure local compliance with tax, statutory, and regulatory requirements, including coordination with external auditors, tax advisors, and authorities.

·         Support inventory accounting processes, including COGS analysis, stock reconciliation, and coordination with supply chain and logistics.

·         Continuously evaluate and enhance financial systems, reporting tools, and workflows to support both FP&A and accounting functions.

 

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience, including managing collections, payables, and inventory in a finance role.
  • Solid understanding of local GAAP, tax regulations, and financial compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in financial systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics, QuickBooks Online) and Excel.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong analytical mindset and the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Experience in a multinational or subsidiary setting; biotech, medtech, or pharmaceutical industry experience is a plus.
